2009: International Year of Natural Fibers

The U.N. has declared 2009 the International Year of Natural Fibres! As stated on the website (click here), "The International Year will shine new light on the wonders of natural fibres and highlight their importance in alleviating poverty" and "heighten public awareness of the economic and environmental attributes of natural fibres".
